Designed to ensure that absorption in academia doesn’t equal isolation within the learning and local community. A volunteer run and enterprise driven project, students earn credits, listed as a postscript on their degree transcript, that reflect their wider experience of studying in Edinburgh. Whether through involvement in local arts groups, voluntary work or attendance at entrepreneurial seminars, students enhance their employability, integrate into capital life and create valuable cross-curricular contacts and friendships that will motivate them as they study. Experiences offered by locals are “accredited” and if attained, simply swiped onto matriculation cards in the university Community ‘hub’.
